This place is called on Google Maps “El Balcón” although the area is also called Andén Verde. We are in the southern part of the Tamadaba Natural Park that stands out for its vertical landscape and cliffs. The road between Agaete and La Aldea is cut in some sections and there is an alternative route through a tunnel. In one of the best points of that road is in Mirador del Balcón.

This place explains through its cliffs part of the geological history of the island that emerged from the sea about 15 million years ago ... This is the old part of Gran Canaria and on this side the island must have suffered a gigantic crash that we appreciate in This viewpoint from the Punta de La Aldea to the Punta de Sardina. Thanks to this cut we can see in the rock of the cliff each of the volcanic lavages (basalts) that raised the island hundreds of meters.
